What is Silk Made From?

What is silk made from? People in Ancient China got silk from the silk worm. The silk worm would be fed on a diet of mulberry leafes (man I hate to be that worm!). Then the silk worm would cacoon it. This tool about 3 to 4 weeks for the worm to make its coccoon, after that someone would throw the cacoon into HOT water and the cacoon would spin out silk. Making silk perfectly is a skill that only a few know. Silk can be dyed into bright colors, and is sold. The silk is even transported along the Silk Road. If your silk clothes were dark that ment that they were fancy clothes, if your clothes were light then that ment they were every day clothes.
